About this Shopping Basket Weaving Course & Kit

The Shopping Basket is the perfect project for a beginner who wants a good grounding in all the major aspects of basket weaving.

First you'll learn to make a round base - this is a key skill that you can use to make dozens of different baskets. Then you'll learn to weave the sides using two different weaves – Waling and French Randing. Finally you’ll learn to weave a beautiful ornate Border and round the top of the basket and fit a wonderful spiral pattern handle.

Who's this course for?

This is a beginner to intermediate course for people who have either made a basket at some point before, or who have a fair amount of experience and confidence in craft.

How long does the basket take to make?

The basket can be made in three sessions of approximately 1.5 hours each. The smaller basket will take slightly less time.

What else do I need?

We design all our courses so that they require absolutely minimal tools. To do this course you will need:

  • A pair of secateurs
  • An old screwdriver to help make gaps in the weave
  • A craft knife

Can I do this course with a friend?

Our courses are great to do in a group! If you would like more than one kit, just select the number you would like at checkout.

After purchase, we will email you a unique access link for each member of your group. All you need to do is forward one of these on to each student. EASY PEASY!

Can I give this course as a gift?

If you are unsatisfied with your course in any way, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a refund.
